Our mission at LightHouse Fellowship is to glorify God by introducing Jesus Christ as Lord, and Savior to as many people as possible, and to develop them in Christian living by using all effective means to impact the world, thereby making an eternal difference in this generation.
There is one God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He is manifest in three separate, distinct Persons. (John 14:7-16; Genesis 1:1; 1:26-27; 3:22; Psalm 90:2; Isaiah 40:28-29; Matthew 28:19; 1 Peter 1:2; 2 Corinthians 13:14)
Jesus Christ is the unique, and only begotten Son of God. He was born of the Virgin Mary as both God and man, lived a sinless life, died on the cross to atone for the sins of all mankind, was buried, bodily arose from the grave, ascended into Heaven to sit at the right hand of God the Father, and will literally return to earth (Matthew 1:22-23; Isaiah 9:6; 53:5-6; John 1:1-5; 14:10-30; Hebrews 4:14-15; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Romans 1:3-4; Acts 1:9-11; 1 Timothy 6:14-15; Titus 2:13).
The Holy Spirit is the Divine helper, assistant, counselor, instructor, and guide. His work is to reveal Jesus Christ, convict of sin, lead mankind to repentance, guide believers, provide comfort, strengthen, and sanctify the soul (2 Corinthians 3:17; John 16:7-13; 14:16-17; Acts 1:8; 1 Corinthians 2:12, 3:16; Ephesians 1:13; 5:25; Galatians 5:25).
The Bible is God's Holy Word. It is without error in it's original form, and is the sole authority for life (Psalm 119:105; Romans 15:4; 2 Peter 1:20-21; 2 Timothy 3:16)
Human beings are the special creations of God, and are made in His image. Man fell into sin by the disobedience and rebellion of the first man, Adam. All human beings are sinners, and are in need of salvation (Genesis 1:27; Psalm 8:3-6; Isaiah 53:6; 59:1-2; Romans 3:23).
Salvation is a gift that is received through repentance toward God, and faith in Jesus Christ. Every person who truly believes is saved and eternally secure in the Lord Jesus Christ, and will spend eternity in Heaven. Those who reject the free gift, and die in their sins will spend eternity in Hell (Romans 6:23; Ephesians 2:8-9; John 14:6; 1:12; Titus 3:5; Galatians 3:26; Romans 5:1).
Baptism by immersion, is after conversion, or salvation, and is done in obedience to Christ's command (Matthew 3:15-17; Acts 2:38).
Each believer has direct access to God through the Lord Jesus Christ (Hebrews 4:14-16; 7:19; Ephesians 3:12).
The Church is a local body of baptized believers with the Lord Jesus Christ as the Head (Matthew 16:18; Acts 20:27-29; 1 Corinthians 12:27-29; Ephesians 1:21-23; 3:20-22; 4:1-3; 5:21-27; Colossians 1:17-19).

We are a 501 (c) 3 non profit organization that was started by Vance Greek in 1976.
Vance started his ministry at 16 years old singing in churches. Vance received his first check for $5 for singing at a Men's Prayer Breakfast in the summer of 1967. He attended East Texas Baptist University and was selected, during the summer of 1969, as one in a group of 30 youth to travel the US singing and preaching at Youth Rallies and Revival meetings. He was preaching his first revival meeting in Northwest Seattle, Washington, at Calvary Baptist the day Neil Armstrong landed on the moon, July 20, 1969.
1969 was a big year for Vance, as he started working with Rev Gene Horton at the Rio Hondo First Baptist Church as the new Youth Director and was licensed November 5th, 1969. (He was later ordained by RHFBC on May 31st, 1972, to preach the gospel before he started revival tours.) Also in the fall of 1969, Vance was asked by Smokey Boyle, aka, Mr Winter Texan, to join him as the worship leader to the Winter Texans during the winter and with Youth Rallies during the summers. Vance was also invited by others to join in other Revivals and Rallies and by the summer of 1972, right after he married his life long sweetheart, Donna, he had a full time schedule booked for two years to lead worship while Bobby Mankin preached the revivals. As the newlyweds drove to their first stop in the two year schedule, the evangelist, Bobby Mankin, was killed in a car accident and the two year schedule was gone...
"But God" provided for the young couple, and Vance was invited to work in other revivals and special events. They ended up buying a motor home and toured the US doing revivals and special events for many years. Their first child, Steven, was born in 1976 and they say he cut is teeth on the baby crib as Vance drove. Vance would always go back to help Smokey minister to Winter Texans during the winters. In 1986 their daughter, Gina, was born. Later in the 90s Vance went to work in Branson, Missouri, during the summer and fall, entertaining folks during the week with well known songs from many different genres and leading worship services at a resort on Sundays. He was asked by Rev Gene Horton to join him leading worship full time at the Rio Hondo First Baptist Church in 1997, so his Branson days came to and end.
In 1999 Vance was blessed to receive an Honorary Doctor of Sacred Music granted by the Anchor Theological Seminary in Texarkana, Arkansas. Then in 2016, Vance started the Lighthouse Fellowship with Rev Gene Horton as a non-denominational ministry that welcomes all. "Who so ever will, come."
In 2018 Rev Gene Horton passed away and the Lighthouse is now lead by Vance Greek who leads both the worship and preaching.
Vance and his wife, Donna, enjoy the time spent ministering with local folks in South Texas and engaging with their Winter Texan friends year around online through the Facebook group page called @TheLighthouseRGV and live church services. They love hearing from friends near and far. Don't be a stranger when you head back north, you can stay engaged year round on the Facebook group page or the link here on our website.
